I’m a writer and historian, currently working at Trinity College Dublin.
My first book, Street Food: Hawkers and the History of London, is forthcoming with Oxford University Press (12 January 2023). My peer-reviewed research has also appeared in academic journals including History Workshop, Urban History, Historical Journal, Journal of Social History, and London Journal.
I have a PhD from Birkbeck, University of London. After a research fellowship at the Institute of Historical Research, funded by the Economic History Society, I joined TCD as a postdoctoral researcher on FoodCult, a groundbreaking project exploring the history of food in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Ireland.
Previously, I worked as a business and agricultural journalist. I wrote news and features for national and trade publications, and spent two years as a staff reporter at Farmers Weekly.
I now live in North London, but was born and raised on a dairy farm in Devon. We make very good ice cream.
